Endometriosis -- The conventional therapies typically used to treat endometriosis are designed to prevent you from having a period. The rule of thumb is that if you don't have a period, then you won't experience the monthly pain of endometriosis. The problem is that these conventional therapies can cause terrible side-effects.
The good news is that you can do the same thing with the natural human hormone progesterone and its only side-effect is drowsiness when taken by mouth. Now, it may take several months to figure out exactly how much progesterone you need to use to prevent having a period.

Fibrocystic Breast Disease -- This is a common symptom of hormone imbalance which is called 'estrogen dominance', meaning there is not enough progesterone to prevent the estrogen from causing overgrowth in the body, in this case that overgrowth is called a fibroid. The good news is that by simply rebalancing these two hormones with the use of a progesterone cream you can greatly reduce and even get rid of fibroids in the breast tissue. My clinical experience is that this typically takes about 6 months.

Heavy Bleeding -- The first step if you are heavy bleeding is to have your doctor check it out and make sure it is not a symptom of something more serious than just simple heavy bleeding. A common therapy to treat heavy bleeding is birth control pills.
The trick to getting the bleeding under control is to balance the estrogen that is made in the first half of your cycle and that causes the growth of the uterine lining with enough progesterone. Progesterone's job in the second half of the cycle is to maintain and mature the uterine lining.
So, if there is enough progesterone to maintain the lining, then the bleeding should get back under control. PMS symptoms (bloating, cramping and moodiness) are also common along with the heavy bleeding as these are also symptoms of low progesterone.

Hot Flashes/Night Sweats -- The most common therapy prescribed today for hot flashes is estrogen. The problem with this is that hot flashes are often NOT due to low estrogen.
Focus on Perimenopause If you are in perimenopause (the years just before menopause -- this can be anywhere from age 35 to 50), it is very likely that your estrogen levels are slightly above normal. The hormone level that is too low for most peri-menopausal women is progesterone. When you replace this hormone the hot flashes and night sweats improve because the progesterone makes your body more sensitive to the estrogen that your own body is making.
Other symptoms that would suggest a hormone imbalance due to not enough progesterone include: weight gain, water retention, breast tenderness, headaches, moodiness, irritability, short-term-memory and concentration problems.

Focus on Menopause This issue of not enough progesterone to balance your estrogen is the same case for many menopausal women as well. You see, today we have a modern-day medical myth that says that 'after menopause women don't make estrogen'. And, while it is true that you don't make estrogen in your ovaries any more, you now make it in your fat tissue, so the general rule of thumb is, "the heavier a woman is, the more estrogen she is making".
But after menopause, the only place you make progesterone is in the adrenal glands, so there is no longer enough progesterone to 'balance' the estrogen. So, again in this case also, many menopausal women with hot flashes and/or night sweats do not need estrogen, but rather just need progesterone to balance the estrogen. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against estrogen -- I'm only for it if you need it. A good place to start, especially if you are on the heavy side, is with Progesterone.

High Stress & Hot Flashes Another cause of both night sweats and hot flashes can be due to constantly high stress levels. To understand this, you need a quick lesson on your adrenal glands. These marble-sized glands that sit on top of each of your kidneys handle your body's response to stress. When you are under constant, unremitting daily stress (or were under very high stress in the past that you haven't fully recovered from), the adrenals become fatigued.
In this situation, your body still has to respond to the stress, but instead of responding in a healthy way, you begin to respond with symptoms of dis-ease because now you are constantly dumping out adrenaline all day and every day. And, adrenaline can cause hot flashes and night sweats -- even in men!
Other common symptoms of adrenal fatigue include fatigue (--a general rule of thumb is that when your adrenals are fatigued, you are fatigued and this fatigue usually hits at 2PM on the dot), digestion problems like heart burn/reflux, gas and irritable bowel syndrome, hair loss, low libido, and difficulty getting a good night sleep.
If this sounds like you, while your case is a bit more complicated, the good news is that we can help you solve it!

Incontinence --There are several different types of incontinence. The one that is typically associated with your hormones is stress incontinence which often occurs when you cough, lift something heavy or sneeze. It is common to also be experiencing vaginal dryness with this type of incontinence. Estrogen vaginal creams are commonly prescribed for this condition.
We recomend Estriol Vaginal Cream. Estriol is the only bio-identical (human) estrogen that has never been shown to cause or increase any types of cancer. For this reason it is commonly referred to as the 'safe' estrogen. And, while it is also the weakest estrogen made by your body, it has been shown to be very effective in treating vaginal dryness and stress incontinence.

Low Libido -- Good News! If you have low libido, we can help. While you may have heard that testosterone can help. You have heard right, but it's just not as simple as giving you testosterone. Having worked with hundreds of women with low libido we have learned that the first step is to make sure that your primary female hormones estrogen and progesterone are balanced. Many women today are lacking enough estrogen to properly balance the estrogen.
This situation is commonly called 'Estrogen Dominance'. Symptoms of this imbalance include: Hot flashe, night sweats, weight gain (tummy, hips & thighs), water retention, breast tenderness, headaches, depression, anxiety, moodiness, irritability, short-term-memory and concentration problems. So, the first step is to make sure that these hormones are properly balanced.
The second step is to correct adrenal fatigue if you have it. This is something that a lot of people have not heard of. Your adrenals glands are about the size of marbles that sit on top of each of your kidneys. Their primary function is to handle your body's response to stress. Being under too much stress for too long, can lead to adrenal fatigue.
When this happens, your body still has to respond to the stress, but it can't do it in a healthy way, so it starts to respond with symptoms of 'dis-ease'. Today these symptoms of dis-ease' have been upgraded to be called "diseases" and we treat the symptoms of the various "diseases", but never actually correct the underlying adrenal fatigue, so you never really get better! Symptoms of adrenal fatigue can include chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome (constipation or diarrhea), Poor Digestion (gas, bloating, heart burn, GERD), trouble sleeping, anxiety, heart racing, increased irritability/decreased patience, dizziness or light-headedness when you stand up fast, running to the bathroom five minutes after you drink a full glass of water, increased allergies and chronic infections.
In the end, if we don't correct the estrogen dominance, we can give you testosterone 'til you're blue in the face and it won't help your libido. And/or if you are having an adrenal fatigue problem due to high stress, it won't matter if we do get your libido better because you'll still be too tired to do anything about it!
Also, just a quick word about testosterone for treating libido in women. Don't worry -- it's not going to deepen your voice or grow hair on your chest! If you do need testosterone, the dose we will recommend for you will be a female replacement dose of bio-identical testosterone which is the testosterone that is natural to your body. At this dose we really do not expect any side-effects, and if you were to have a side-effect, we would first expect acne, which would just be a sign that you are getting too much. To date, we have had no reports of side-effects from the testosterone that we recommend.

PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) -- is a common problem whose symptoms include: moodiness, irritability, cramping and bloating. The good news is that for most girls and women, this is an easy problem to solve! PMS is simply a hormone imbalance that occurs in the week before your period begins. If the two primary female hormones, estrogen and progesterone, are balanced at this time of month, everything goes smoothly. However, if there is not enough progesterone, watch out!

Uterine Fibroids -- are a common symptom of hormone imbalance which is called 'estrogen dominance', meaning there is not enough progesterone to prevent the estrogen from causing overgrowth in the body, in this case that overgrowth is called a fibroid.
The good news is that by simply rebalancing these two hormones with the use of a progesterone cream you can greatly shrink down and even get rid of fibroids in the breast tissue. Now, if the the uterine fibroid is too large, (bigger than a baseball) it may be too late to try this. My clinical experience is that this typically takes about 6 months to shrink down the fibroids.
